We are the labor union for Police Officers in the City of Pittsburgh. We are the voice of those who dedicate their lives to protecting and serving our communities. We are committed to improving the working conditions of law enforcement officers and the safety of those we serve, through education, legislation, information, community involvement and employee representation. No one knows the dangers and the difficulties faced by today's police officers better than another officer, and no one knows police officers better than the FOP.

Dear Friends of the Fraternal Order of Police,

We are conducting our Associate Membership Program that is sponsored by Fort Pitt Lodge No. 1. We are asking you to support the Fraternal Order of Police and become an Associate Member of our organization.

The FOPA (Fraternal Order of Police Associates) is a civilian affiliate of the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP). Our members are friends and families of Law Enforcement Officers, responsible and respected business persons, professional men and women, and citizens from all walks of life. Our members are people willing to devote a portion of their time and efforts toward assisting the men and women that belong to Fort Pitt lodge No. 1.

The FOPA is an organization formed for the purpose of increasing our understanding of the rights, duties and problems of Law Enforcement Officers; of fostering respect for them; and of bettering conditions under which they serve society. It is our aim and objective to support Law Enforcement throughout our country in every way possible.
We believe that Law is the safeguard to freedom and it is our duty to defend it.

This Associate Membership Drive is being sponsored by the Fraternal Order of Police, Fort Pitt Lodge No. 1. Fort Pitt Lodge No. 1, includes all of the Police Officers that are employed by the City of Pittsburgh, both active and retired. The purpose of this campaign is to fund various lodge activities for our members. These activities include but are not limited to the following: sending members to career enhancing seminars, obtaining equipment and supplies for every day operations of the lodge, providing a $1000.00 death benefit to all members of Fort Pitt Lodge No. 1, and funding an adopt a cop program to assist officers that come upon hard times, such as layoffs. Our organization also uses these funds for our lodges legal fees and arbitration costs.

Finally, in addition to other important programs, this fund also enables Fort Pitt Lodge No. 1 to sponsor recreational and social activities for our members. This Associate Membership Drive is the primary source of funding for these programs. All of these funds go directly to Fort Pitt Lodge No. 1.

Your support is vital to the success of this campaign. Any and all questions should be directed to our office, hours 10 AM to 5PM weekdays. The cost of an Associate Membership is $35.00 dollars. This is good for one year. Please contact Fort Pitt Lodge No. 1 with any questions at (412)
